Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become an INA traveler?

Complete our online application and one of our experienced Advisors will contact you immediately upon arrival.  Your next step will be to email or fax a resume and to complete a checklist specific to your specialty.  With this information, an Advisor will be able to match you to a specific job based on your qualifications as well as your desired area(s).

What are the requirements to become a traveler?

As an RN it is recommended you have at least one year of experience before entering into the travel industry.  Hospitals expect a traveler to come into their facility with a shorter orientation period and begin working on the floor(s) quicker.  For this reason, having at least one year of experience can definitely be a benefit to a new traveler.  Also, having a license in the state you are looking to work will speed up your process if you are looking to get to work quickly.  Please contact a recruiter for phone numbers and/or web links to state nursing boards.

Can I work in any city I want?

There are a number of assignments nationwide through INA Nursing.  If your choices are close to major metropolitan areas, your options will be greater.  If we do not have your specific city, your recruiter will find a facility for you or have other exciting options available to you.

How long are the contracts?

Our contracts are typically 13 weeks long with the option to extend.  We do have a few assignments that are 4-8 weeks long.  Please contact a recruiter for more specific information on an assignment.

Can your company keep me working as a traveler?

We certainly can.  We have a number of open positions to keep you working year in and year out.  However, you do have to be flexible about travel assignments.  We may not have jobs in small-targeted areas.  If you arrange in advance we will most likely be able to help you reach your preferred destination.

Can I travel with my family/friends?

Yes, you can.  We do not want to restrict you from the comforts of home.  If you have relatives or friends that come with you, we feel it is a great opportunity to share this experience with someone else.

Can I take my pet?

Most of our housing complexes will take pets.  If they do not, your recruiter will assist in finding acceptable housing that will allow for pets.  The one thing we ask of you is to incur the cost of the pet deposit and additional amount for the pet rent if required by the housing complex.  Please speak with your recruiter if you have any additional questions.

What are your benefits?

We have one of the best packages in the industry.  Please take a look at our benefits page for further information.
